The Heijboer Safety Group, originally founded as the Blomsma Group in 1979, is a family-owned business that has grown into a versatile and dynamic organization with around 80 employees. In 1989, the company — then consisting of 17 people — was taken over by Willem Heijboer, who developed it into the group’s current form. Since then, the second and even third generation of the Heijboer family have become actively involved in the business, ensuring continuity, long-term vision, and a deep commitment to the values on which the group was built. Today, the board of directors consists of Willem Heijboer, his son Corstiaan Heijboer, and Helmert van der Slik (CFO).
What truly sets us apart is that we can guide our customers from start to finish. At Heijboer Safety Group, we support every phase of a project: from the initial on-site assessment and engineering through design, in-house production, and installation. Depending on what is needed, we step in where we add the most value, always to take the burden off our clients and provide them with complete, worry-free solutions.
At heart, The Heijboer Safety Group is a family business. Several members of the Heijboer family are active in the business, both in management positions and in other roles throughout the company. This family involvement gives our work a personal touch and creates the drive to build something lasting together. Continuity is important to us, not just for the company, but also for the people who work with us and for the customers we serve.
Long before terms like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) were widely used, we were already acting with care for people and the environment. Safe working practices and sustainable choices have always been part of how we do things: down-to-earth, practical, and guided by common sense.
At Heijboer Safety Group, our mission and vision provide the common ground that unites all the companies within our group. They express our core values and shape how we work, the choices we make, and the relationships we build with our clients, our employees, and society as a whole.

FIRE⚡️ISOLATOR is another ISO 9001-certified company of Heijboer Safety Group, that specializes in isolating and fighting Electric Vehicle fires. The FIRE⚡️ISOLATOR concept is based on best practices and live testing. It was developed after experts with extensive experience in the European ferry industry noticed growing concerns about handling EV car fires onboard. Knowing lithium fires are difficult to extinguish, a new approach was created: FIRE⚡️ISOLATOR.
Blomsma Transit Signage produces and supplies line maps and network maps that form the basis of clear and consistent passenger information across the public transport system. The information displayed at bus, tram, or metro stops and on transit lines changes regularly. This may be due to timetable updates or detours caused by construction work. It is essential that the information shown at each stop is up-to-date, so travelers know when a bus, tram, or metro will arrive. All these changes need to be carefully prepared, coordinated, produced, and placed at the correct locations.
